The site design I've chosen this week is the Tankardstown House site. I work here so I'm probably a bit biased but I think its a brilliantly deisgned site and the graphics are very much suited to the house and the atmosphere of the area around it.

The site also has quotes at the bottom of the page, mixed into the background design which changes for each page you select. The quotes themselves are actually reviews from previous guests to the house.

I think that this site has a very sophisticated and classical design which suits the sites subject very well.

The site I've chosen this week is ShabbyBlogs.
Its a site that gives free HTML code to allow you to have a wallpaper on the background of the blog. I love this site as I find the designs are all vintage styled and the creators are women who work in Multimedia Authoring and love fashion.They update the site as often as possible, and also design custom wallpapers upon request. They keep every wallpaper detailed though and this is why I feel they are so popular as its not just another generic template from any other site, its also where I got the background for this blog.

The site I chose that I find has an interesting visual element is AdultSwim.
I find that this site is great at incorporating their newest releases into the sites background and sidebars. The site is usually very colourful and I personally prefer the design of the American site as opposed to the design of the UK site found here.

It changes designs at a rapid rate too, usually every one or two weeks.

The site also has a retro arcade game theme on its games sections backgrounds which is in keeping with the theme of the site.

FIRST IRISH IKEA STORE TO OPEN IN DUNDALK

Ikea, the Swedish furniture maker, is to open its first southern Irish store in Dundalk in March 2009.The news came as a surprise to the media when it was anounced at the press conference held in the Four Seasons Hotel yesterday (2-12-08) as the expectation was Drogheda would be chosen as the location for the well known brand.

Mark Kavanagh, spokesperson for Ikea, had this to say for why the company had chosen Dundalk for its new location; "Dundalk is an ideal location for our first Irish store. Halfway between Dublin and Belfast, its easily accesible from either city and Dundalk's reputation as one of the fastest growing gateway towns in the country added to its appeal.

It is expected that shoppers will travel from both sides of the border to enjoy the Ikea experience.

The main aim of any company is to reach all their current and potential clients to inform them of new products, services and special offers. So it makes perfect sense to use all available mediums to achieve this aim.
The Internet has millions of users everyday and the most popular way to locate anything now is to use google. This means that the company has a high priority to try and make their brand or product number one in the search list.
This can be done in a number of ways, although some are underhanded and can incur penalties. Methods include using invisible text, that is, text in the same colour as the background so it shows on the search engines list of keywords but does not appear visible on the actual website.
Companies can pay to have their advertisement appear on the right hand side of the first page of the search engine list in a pay-per-click method but only 20% of users opt for these ads.
Organic listings are much more effective as the remaining 80% of users click these and it is for this reason that companies often hire agencies to conduct search engine optimisation on their website in a bid to achieve the coveted number one google list.

Lady Killfeather-possibly the hottest 3 piece Rock/Alternative band to ever hail from Slane!
The band ensemble boasts Thomas O'Boyle on guitar, Sean O'Brien on drums and Kenno (no surname, like Flea) on bass. All 3 guys do vocals.

Influences include Rage Against The Machine, Queens Of The Stone Age, Billy Talent, Manic Street Preachers and Mars Volta.

Lady Killfeather play gigs in Dundalk, Maynooth and now predominantly Dublin.

Their latest gig is to be held on the 11th of December in renowned venue Radio City in Dublin, which has held host to bands such as Ham Sandwich, The Coronas, Director and Delerentos.
Phantasm Nights-Phantom 105.2fms gig nights are also a main feature in Radio City.

Tickets only cost €5 and can be bought prior to or on the night depending on availability but they are expected to sell fast so get them as soon as possible to avoid dissapointment!

Have you heard my famous story? It starts in a couple of minutes....

So as the title suggests.....or not, this post is about the Internet sex industry, its porn Jim but not as we know it.

Many psychologists have said that the Internet has left little to the imagination, but a degree in psychology isn't needed to see that, type absolutely anything into google and it will appear free of charge, the same applies to porn, anything is available at the click of a button which is highly dangerous if children are left unsupervised as almost everything is associated with sex in some way-even child pornography itself, its readily available to any depraved mind wishing to see it and there is no way of completely eradicating it as the Internet is allowing it to thrive with sick images being uploaded every day.

The availability of Internet porn has removed the embarrassment men faced going into shops and reaching for the top shelf.....but this has also removed the amusement for the shop assistant.

Internet porn doesn't seem to be leaving anytime soon....gross.

Bebostalking is a verb, probably not in the dictionary but its still used! Its basically self explanatory, stalking....through bebo....! Nobody admits to it and everyone does it, yet no one can complain about it because they all allow it! Posting comments telling your friends in minute detail about what you did at the weekend is basically the internet equivalent to shouting off the top of a roof your life story, and its a form of vanity! I'm not ranting about this, only explaining my opinion because i'm just as guilty as anyone, i post photos on bebo like everyone else because i want my friends and their friends to see them! A few of my friends and i put up albums with emo style photos first as a joke and now we have to stop ourselves posting the most vain pictures we can take!
Nobody who has a bebo can accuse anyone else of being a poser because we all do it, its human nature of the 21st century!
Its just another way of talking to someone in public, anything we dont want seen should be said in person or through text, people post messages knowing they're going to be read by anyone and surely thats just another side effect of the celebrity culture??
Its still addictive though and i'm not giving up my page any day soon!!

Its boring!

Its a million times easier to convert muscle to fat than to convert fat to muscle, so don't upset natures balance.

It DOESN'T make you feel better! It makes you feel worse cause everyone is faster and stronger!

The more energy you use the more you eat the fatter you can get, again a vicious cycle best not to mess with.

Its BORING!!
